About
Terra Verde Discovery School is a creative, progressive, independent coeducational day school for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. We are passionate about maintaining an environment where individual respect, independent thinking, creativity, responsibility, and integrity are paramount. A Terra Verde Discovery School education enables children to develop an ethical approach to all relationships, to realize their full potential, and to believe in their power to effect positive change.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Terra Verde Discovery School is to preserve the joys of childhood while cultivating creativity and critical thinking that stresses the importance of entrepreneurial enthusiasm, ecological sustainability, and ethical benevolence.
Founders
Pete and Shelly Wilson founded Terra Verde Discovery School in August of 2010 with one teacher/director and eight students. The school is the result of years of the Wilsons' research, preparation, and passion for providing a top-tier education for their own children and those in the Norman community. They had a vision for their children to have the best education possible and learn to be critical thinkers, not just good test-takers. At Terra Verde, children are connected with nature and have compassion for others.
